chtml.ca provides a low-maintenance, resource-efficient, interoperable, and end-to-end encrypted messaging relay for Canadians to use. Chatmail
is effectively a standard email address that's optimized for verifiably secure instant messaging.
In either the Delta Chat or ArcaneChat account setup you can tap Create a profile
then Use other server
and choose Classic e-mail login
. Fill the two fields like this:
E-Mail Address
: a word of
exactly nine
characters
with @chtml.ca
at the end.
Existing Password
: a word of at least nine characters.
If the address is not yet taken, it's yours; your first login creates the account and sets the password.
Unencrypted messages are blocked to recipients outside chtml.ca. You can add other chatmail users via QR invite codes, which create an encrypted connection between you and them so messages can be sent and received securely.
You may send up to 60 messages per minute.
Messages are unconditionally removed a maximum of 3 days after arriving on the relay.
You can temporarily cache up to 350MiB of messages on the relay.
chtml.ca accounts and any temporarily cached messages contained therein are automatically deleted after 90 days of no login activity.
If you wish to delete your account, you must remove it from all of the apps/devices on which it's setup.
Deleted accounts cannot be restored.

chtml.ca employs free, open-source software provided by a small group of voluntary devs who publically develop chatmail relay software. Chatmail setups aim to be very low-maintenance, resource-efficient, and interoperable with any other standards-compliant and encrypted email services.
